Erika Chavez

Erika Chavez serves in the role of Consultant assisting the Nonprofit Management Center in the areas of governance, board development, strategic planning, bylaws, and facilitated discussions. Prior to joining the Center, Erika was the Executive Director of Odessa Links from 2013 until 2021. 

She is a graduate of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa and has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in public administration. Her professional experience spans over a decade of nonprofit work from AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer In Service to America) service, coalition activities, grant writing, resource development, financials, board, and executive leadership. 

Erika enjoys volunteering and actively serves in committee and board positions with the Junior League of Odessa, Young Professionals of Odessa, Odessa Links, and Centers for Children and Families. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, movies, reading, listening to podcasts, and learning new things.
